PDI airlocks are precision machined during fabrication, but robust enough to handle a chunk of steel without requiring a complete remanufacturing. The flaps are heavy-duty silicone rubber on top of reinforced belting for long life. Our airlocks are sized with a 20% or less fill factor.

PDI’s density classification flights sort feed materials by size and weight, keeping wet materials in the drum longer, and moving dry materials through quickly. This sorting optimizes drying efficiency, saving fuel and horsepower, and improving moisture control.

PDI's innovative dryer design lowers emissions from conventional systems. The stability of the dryer operation also enables the burner to run smoothly, limiting CO and NOx production.

The dryer drum is turned in the shop with a machine fit tolerance around the seals, making certain the system is mechanically correct before it ships to your site.

Recycle loop technology is a feature added to drying systems to improve stability and performance. It helps to reduce the fire risk in a rotary dryer. Recycle gas also significantly reduces the amount of air flow to the pollution control equipment.

The unique design of the PDI outlet system significantly reduces the horsepower requirements for drying, saving as much as 200 horsepower on larger systems. When comparing the cost of electricity to the capital cost of the machinery, this savings normally pays for the modifications in under a year.

PDI dryers are structurally engineered to ensure the capability to withstand the harsh environments of many manufacturing operations.

PDI systems can also be set up for remote access by our staff to provide you with the assistance you need as quickly as possible.

PDI's control system is set up to optimize outlet moisture control and minimize variation.

Machining on PDI equipment is always done after welding to ensure the fit is true and the bearings, couplings, and other mechanical drive components are properly aligned.

PDI drying systems are designed to meet the diverse needs of today’s manufacturers.

The result is innovative equipment that provides cost-effective and environmentally compliant performance, responsive to even the most stringent guidelines. Our customized solutions use advanced technology to ensure a consistent, quality finished product, giving our customers a competitive edge.

PDI Drying Systems

PDI drying systems utilize precise airflow management and retention time controls, ensuring consistent outlet moisture.

Our density classification allows lower fuel consumption than traditional systems and reduces the emissions created by overdrying smaller materials.

Efficiency of design allows a PDI system to generate higher throughput than conventional approaches in smaller drums.

Our unique mechanical design on the outlet of the dryer lowers the horsepower required for the induced draft fan in a typical cyclone-based outlet. This approach reduces the need for secondary cyclones and allows for increased flexibility for materials segregation.
